If you're like a lot of people,
you've probably moved more times than you'd like to count. If so, you know what
a nightmare it is to have your new T.V., phone or internet service activated.
But what if I told you there was "one place" to have everything
turned on? It's possible, and I'm on the case.
We're a nation on the move: new jobs, homes, addresses and everything you need
to live there. De-regulation has made utility company shopping hard. Until now.
"Wouldn't it be great to connect utilities in three minutes before you
move?" asks Howard Yonce.
That's exactly what he thought when he moved.
"I thought it would be so convenient if we could have one place for people
to go on the Internet to sign up water, electricity, TV, the Internet,
telephone," says Howard.
Howard created "2turniton.com." Just enter your new address and zip
code and the site identifies providers in your area. Click on electricity to
compare prices and make your selection. Then find pricing and packages for your
phone and internet service. When you're done, just complete a short application
including start dates for each service. Howard says many people use
"2turniton.com" to compare prices to make sure they're still getting
the best deal possible.
"In most cases you can save somewhere between 15 and 25 percent on your
electric bill just by finding out what other services are available and perhaps
changing your provider," Howard says.
Cities across the country, including Rowlett, link new water customers to the
Website. Donna Huerta says "2turniton.com" is a time saver for
customers and the city.
"A lot of people still like to talk to someone, but there are a lot more
who like to just do it and not have to be put on hold and talk to someone who
may or may not know what they are talking about," says Huerta.
Howard just wishes he'd thought of his service sooner.
"Well, of the two days of research, trying to find out who I could get the
best rate from, I said we've got to do this a different way," says Howard.
Here's the best part: "2turniton.com" is free for consumers and
cities. The Website makes its money by charging utility co
